Welcome to ARNet

ARNet – American Resources on the Net – is the official website of the American Studies Resource Centre (ASRC) at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. The ASRC provides an educational service to students, teachers and the general public in the UK on all aspects of American culture. The ASRC is staffed by student research assistants under the directorship of Dr Bella Adams and webmaster David Forster. ARNet is fundamental to the ASRC’s educational service, allowing it to disseminate information about American Studies courses, conferences and events. ARNet also provides an annotated list of links to American Studies resources on the internet, covering a range of topics from the environment and education to online publications. ARNet also has its own online publication, which features scholarly articles and book reviews. American Studies Today is published annually in hard copy form and is free to subscribers and contributors. American Studies Today Online is also free and features additional material, including longer articles and ‘Letters from America.’ If you would like to contribute an article and/or a book review, please see our submissions policy. BAAS
The British Association for American Studies exists to promote, support and encourage the study of the United States in the Universities, Colleges and Schools of the United Kingdom, and by independent scholars. It welcomes application forms from all those engaged in or connected with the study of the United States.

RCAS North West Regional Centre for American Studies in the North West
The Regional Centre for American Studies (RCAS) is a new research network established by postgraduate students from the University of Liverpool and the University of Manchester. American Studies researchers work across a broad conceptual and methodological spectrum, which transcends many different and often discrete academic departments. Their aim is to connect the arts and sciences by providing opportunities for the sharing and development of ideas, research skills and methodologies on a regular and structured basis, for those working in American Studies in the North West of England
